NASA’s mission to Mars in 2020 is moving forward as scheduled, but if you move fast, you can hitch a ride.
The U.S. space agency is allowing the public to send their names to Mars for free, if you submit your information by the deadline. The names will be etched on a microchip and placed aboard the the Mars 2020 rover, allowing the names to live on in space history forever.
So far, just over 6 million names have been submitted, and you can still add yours and receive a digital boarding pass as a souvenir. When all the names have been submitted, NASA will post an image of the microchip on the NASA website.
The deadline is Sept. 30, 2019, 11:59 p.m. ET, see you on Mars!
