The history and increasing influence of Marvel’s vast array of characters is getting its own documentary series on Disney Plus. Titled Marvel 616, the docu-series will explore everything from comic writers, comic book artists, cosplay fans, and the entire culture around the Marvel Universe.
The name “Marvel 616” is also what is known as the primary timeline and universe in which Marvel’s main stories take place, distinguishing it from any alternative Marvel timelines and/or universes.
Each episode was directed by a different director and here’s the episode rundown:
“Japanese Spider-Man” Directed by David Gelb
“Higher Further Faster” Directed by Gillian Jacobs
“Amazing Artisans” Directed by Clay Jeter
“Lost and Found” Directed by Paul Scheer
“Suit Up!” Directed by Andrew Rossi
“Unboxed” Directed by Sarah Ramos
“The Marvel Method” Directed by Brian Oakes
“Marvel Spotlight” Directed by Alison Brie
This is definitely not for the casual Marvel fan as it appears to get pretty deep into comic book territory, but if you’re a rabid Marvel fan, this is documentary Christmas. Disney Plus will air the series starting November 20, and you can get a sneak peek in the trailer above.
