The many behind many of Apple’s biggest design hits, Jony Ive, is leaving the company. Ive revealed his move in an exclusive interview with the Financial Times on Thursday.
Although it may come as a shock to some, the truth is that Ive had already significantly reduced his work schedule and rumors have floated for the last few years that he was already halfway into a soft retirement.
In the past, Ive was the design chief behind the iMac, the iPhone, the iPod, and the iPad. Nevertheless, with his departure official, the future of Apple’s usually futuristic design is now up in the air.
